How to store fondant

When storing fondant, it is important:

  • Keep it covered, to avoid air and delay drying.
  • Avoid sunlight. It may lose colour.
  • Never put it in the fridge. It hardens, it does not need refrigeration.

To store it, I recommend you do not mix colours. They may fade if they are in contact for a long time. Stains may appear.

I like to keep it in zip bags and inside a small tupperware. So, hardly any air will enter. And also, I put them in a closet to avoid light.

In addition, it is also advisable to keep the pieces in a ball shape and the bigger the better. It will help to keep humidity for a long time.

And these are all the steps that I follow to store fondant. Still,  fondant has an expiration date. It does not last forever, but we can prevent a premature death.
